About Us
Following the deregulation of New Zealand’s taxi market in 1989, the number of taxis ballooned from 2,700 to around 7,000 today. The New Zealand Taxi Federation (NZTF) and its members are committed to being the best in the industry. The results speak for themselves. Whilst other companies have come and gone, our members continue to go from strength to strength providing one of the highest levels of service in the world.
Today, the Taxi Federation ONLY represents the best operators in the country and professionally chauffeurs 20 million passengers per year. It is important to understand that despite looking alike, not all taxis are the same. You can easily spot a NZTF car by the logo on the rear, passenger door. Did you know that Taxis are responsible for more than a third of all New Zealand’s public transport? But it’s not just about getting businessmen to
meetings or families to the airport. We are the biggest carrier of the elderly and disabled in New Zealand, facilitating a quality of life they might otherwise not enjoy 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
